Description DONIC BLUESTORM PRO

Donic Bluestorm Pro – this is an inverted table tennis rubber, designed for professionals and ambitious attackers (OFF, OFF+) seeking top quality, maximum speed, spin, and dynamism. This rubber, part of the Donic Bluestorm series, stands out with a hard 50° sponge featuring a very strong catapult effect and a specially developed grippy topsheet, which optimizes topspin shots even under difficult conditions. Manufactured to strict quality standards, Bluestorm Pro delivers consistent performance, direct feedback, and excellent response. ITTF approved, made in Germany, this rubber is the ideal choice for players aiming to elevate their game to a professional level.

Main features:

• Country of origin: Germany
• Certifications: ITTF approved

Donic Bluestorm Pro features professional construction focused on dynamics and spin:

Sponge (hard): The hard 50° sponge (Hard-) with a fine-pore structure delivers a very strong catapult effect, ensuring maximum speed and dynamism. Compared to Bluestorm Big Slam (42.5°) or Bluestorm Z3 (45°), the Pro sponge is significantly harder, close to Bluestorm Z1 Turbo (50°), but optimized for more professional play. The sponge thickness (2.0 mm, Max) enhances speed and spin, suitable for aggressive shots. Short dwell time supports fast looping and flat hits.
Topsheet: The thin, high-tension, highly grippy topsheet (excellent grip) ensures maximum spin and direct feel. Specifically developed for topspin shots, the topsheet effectively “bites” 40+ plastic balls, even on thin contact. The topsheet is elastic, less tacky than the BlueGrip series, but close to BlueStar A1 in grip. Durability reaches ~50–70 hours of intense play and requires regular cleaning with Donic cleaner.
High tension effect: FD3 technology and the thin, molecular-tensioned topsheet create an explosive catapult effect typical of modern European rubbers. This enhances speed and spin, facilitating attacks against backspin and counter-loop shots. The catapult effect is stronger than Bluestorm Z2 or Z3, close to BlueStar A2.
High arc: Bluestorm Pro generates a high trajectory arc that stabilizes ball flight, ensures extreme spin, and allows precise topspin shots with a high safety margin. The arc is slightly lower than BlueStar A3 but optimized for aggressive play.
Strict quality control: The rubber is manufactured with very strict weight and sponge hardness selection, minimizing batch variations and ensuring consistent performance.
Spin sensitivity: Due to its grippy topsheet, the rubber is sensitive to incoming spin, so blocking or chopping requires precise technique.

The rubber weighs about 55–60 g (cut, 2.0 mm thickness), heavier than Bluestorm Big Slam (~45–50 g), but similar in weight to Bluestorm Z1 (~55–60 g). Offered in red and black colors, complying with ITTF regulations. Water-based glue (e.g., Donic Vario) and protective film are recommended.

Donic Bluestorm Pro has the following technical ratings:

Speed: 122 (fast). The rubber is very fast, suitable for aggressive topspin shots, looping, flat hits, and counter-attacks at the table or from mid-distance. The hard sponge ensures high speed, surpassing Bluestorm Z2 (110) and close to Bluestorm Z1 Turbo (115). Speed depends on player technique and blade.
Spin: 125 (high). Due to the highly grippy topsheet, the rubber generates high spin, especially for looping, serves, and open-ups. Spin is slightly lower than BlueStar A1/A2/A3 (126), but higher than Bluestorm Big Slam (122). The high arc enhances spin and facilitates attacks against backspin.
Control: 88 (demanding). The rubber offers control for professionals, but due to the hard sponge and speed, control is challenging for beginners. The high arc and direct feel offer safety in looping, but blocking or passive shots require skill.

Trajectory: High arc, suitable for looping and topspin attacks. The arc stabilizes ball flight, facilitates attacks against backspin, and ensures precision in counter-looping. When blocking, the racket angle must be closed due to the high arc. Users praise the “explosive dynamics,” “spin potential,” and “direct feel.”

Donic Bluestorm Pro suits fast offensive blades:

Donic Ovtcharov No. 1 Senso: Maximizes speed and spin, suitable for OFF+ players.
Stiga Carbonado 190: Balances speed and spin, ideal for forehand side.
Butterfly Viscaria: Provides power and precision, suitable for professionals.
Yasaka Ma Lin Carbon: Emphasizes dynamism, good for looping.
Donic BlueStar A2: Fast blade, enhances rubber speed.

The rubber pairs best with OFF or OFF+ blades, as the hard sponge and grippy topsheet exploit the blade’s elasticity. Suitable for forehand or backhand, especially for professionals and ambitious players.

Donic Bluestorm Pro is intended for players seeking maximum dynamics and spin:

• For professional attackers (OFF, OFF+), executing aggressive looping, flat shots, and counter-attacks.
• For ambitious players looking for a rubber to raise their game level.
• For spin-based play, suitable for forehand or backhand, especially looping and serves.
• For close-to-table and mid-distance play: Effective in looping, open-ups, and flat shots.
Serves and receive: The grippy topsheet allows for spinny serves, and the hard sponge facilitates aggressive returns (flicks, topspin).
Attacking backspin: High arc and grip allow lifting low balls easily.
Counter-looping: High speed and precision for counter-loop shots.

The rubber is extremely effective in looping (9.8/10), flat hits (9.7/10), counter-attacks (9.6/10), open attacks (9.5/10), and serves (9.4/10). Blocking (8.6/10) and chopping (7.5/10) require technique due to spin sensitivity and hard sponge. Users highlight the “catapult effect,” “spin potential,” and “professional feel.”

• Speed (122), fast, suitable for aggressive shots
• Spin (125), high, effective in looping and serves
• Control (88), suitable for professionals
• Grippy topsheet: Maximum friction, strong spin
• Hard sponge: Explosive dynamics, high arc
• Quality control: Consistent performance
• Durability: Wear-resistant

• Demanding control: Requires high technical level
• Spin sensitivity: Blocking and chopping require skill
• Passive play: Not suitable for defensive strategies

ITTF approved, suitable for top-level competitions. Donic Bluestorm Pro is popular among professionals and advanced players for its speed, spin, and dynamism. Effective against 40+ plastic balls, it offers stability in looping, open attacks, and topspin-heavy play.
